UP HERE is set in New York City in the waning days of 1999, following the extraordinary story of one ordinary couple as they fall in love. Lindsay has the seemingly perfect life but she can’t help but feel there must be more. She moves to NYC where she’s determined to make it as a writer, but is plagued by insecurity and doubt coming from the voices in her head. These voices are literally brought to life as various people from her past who appear only to her: her parents, ex-boyfriend and even childhood best friend. In New York, she meets Miguel, a Wall Street trader who seemingly has it all together. However, Miguel is also bombarded by the voices in his head who appear only to him: his overbearing mother, the guy who his recent ex cheated on him with, and his teenage crush. After Lindsay and Miguel have an unfortunate hookup that ends in tears (Miguel, not Lindsay), the two keep crossing paths and realize they might be meant for each other – if only they can get their inner voices to shut up!
