Side project of David Jackman and Adam Wilkey's Phoenix-based PRMR (pka The Premiere). Having taken on multiple music personalities over the years from a cosmopolitan electro-rock take on hip hop to powerpop-darkwave-rap, the duo is no stranger to assaults on genre convention. Stripping their complex code in favor of a minimalist sound and fun concept, California World is a breezy, G-funked out and somewhat absurdist breakaway from the ills of 2020. Wilkey's creative lyrical chops and grand imagination has found him making his way and thriving in the political arena, while Jackman (also previously a member of defunct national act Peachcake) juggles various aliases/projects including David Ben Jack, and Donovan Hikaru. Together, the spoils of their collaboration has grown from hometown praise to international TV spots (Into The Drink, Texas Bucket List) to catalog track deals with FirstCom/Universal Music Publishing. With a debut EP set for release via cassette label Business Casual, California World is ready for an eternal summer.
