Biography

Andreas Wolf studied with Prof. Heiner Eckels in Detmold and Prof. Thomas Quasthoff, Berlin. Being a regular guest at major operahouses and orchestras recent highlights include singing the role of Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte at Teatro Real in Madrid, La Monnaie in Brussels and at the Wiener Festwochen. His role-debut as Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro at Teatro Real in Madrid, his return to La Monnaie as Leporello in Don Giovanni and the brilliant debut as Papageno in Mozarts Zauberflöte at the Grand Théatre de Genève. Recent concert engagements include Mozart’s Great Mass in C-minor with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, various Bach projects with Bach-Collegium Stuttgart and conductor Hans-Christoph Rademann, Bach’s Matthäus-Passion with various orchestras such as Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra and Ton Koopman, the Nederlandse Bachvereniging under the baton of Jos van Veldhoven and the Holland Baroque Society and Reinbert de Leeuw. Regular cooperations with acclaimed conductors such as Bertrand de Billy, Sylvain Cambreling, Ingo Metzmacher, Andrea Marcon, Stefano Montanari and Jordi Savall shape his artistic career. Future engagements include the role of Figaro in Mozarts “Le nozze die Figaro” at Opéra national du Rhin, the role of Leporello at Staatsoper Stuttgart and Opera of Moscow as well as a Christmas Oratorio concert tour with Nederlands Kamerkoor, Concerto Köln and Peter Dijkstra.
