PLAYLIZT Presenta: Liquidarlo Celuloid...

Biography

Described by The Wire Magazine as “a band designed to create a ritualistic experience based on hard grooves”, Liquidarlo Celuloide is one of the most representative bands from Peru’s experimental rock scene, with an unclassifiable sound that’s a byproduct of krautrock, no wave, post punk and dance music. The band’s evolution has been charted over the course of 9 records since 2003. Their last album, “Anamnesis”, was released on February 28th 2020. It was produced by Killing Joke’s Jaz Coleman, and it follows 2017’s “Superfricción”, which had great critical appraisal both locally and internationally. Over their career the band has participated in such large scale festivals such as Urbe & Arte (Fundación Wiese), Integraciones (Fundación Telefónica), Cultura Libre (Municipalidad de San Isidro), Ruidismos (Proyecto AMIL) and NRMAL (Mexico City). They’ve also participated in international compilation albums, amongst them The Wire Tapper 39, released by England’s The Wire Magazine, which focused on the band on their Peruvian experimental scene report. Liquidarlo Celuloide has shared stages with bands such as Killing Joke (UK), Acid Mothers Temple (Japan), Moon Duo (USA), Pharmakon (USA), Mueran Humanos (Argentina/Germany), Deafkids (Brazil), Rakta (Brazil), amongst many others, and they’ve toured Argentina and Mexico.
