Ancestral Stories

Biography

Monumental. Adventurous. Contemporary. That's the sound of the symphonic metal band Glassgod, hailing from Leipzig, Germany. In 2018, lead singer Mario Hartwig and guitarist Marian Lux started working on their debut album »Ancestral Stories« which was released May 28, 2021. The songs combine progressive riffing with an atmospheric orchestra and synthesizer foundation, powerful drums with the flowing character of film music, as well as melodic clean vocals with brutal growling to produce a symphonic work of art. Like yin and yang, the two songwriters allow their respective creative flows to merge into one. Glassgod create a sonic and lyrical landscape filled with facets of emotion: sometimes turbulent, terrifying and dystopian, yet fragile, invigorating and colourful. On their upcoming concept album, Glassgod take their listeners on a journey into long past eons of Earth’s history. The four young musicians are not going on this journey alone. Together with symphonic metal icon Liv Kristine (ex-Leaves Eyes and Theatre of Tragedy) on the mic, Glassgod provide a grandiose album finale with their epic long track »Mankind«. Glassgod performed for the first time ever at the »Winds and Woods Meet Metal Festival 2020« when they shared the stage with various acts, such as Moonlight Haze and Molllust. The concert on the occasion of the release of »Ancestral Stories« took place on the stage of Hellraiser Leipzig together with Hel’s Throne. Further concerts are currently in preparation.
