Max Dope (formerly known as J-Mac) is an artist from Parkland/Tacoma, WA currently residing in Knoxville, TN. Creating music from way back in 1999/2000 around age 9 on his father's DJ rig, recording straight to cassette, he can be considered an underground veteran in the hip hop space. It wouldn't be until middle school where he would drop his first official project "The Assessment: Volume 1" under the name J-Mac where he would garner some local buzz. After a few other local solo projects and partnering up with his childhood friends under the name GreenGangg he would go on to college and release a fan favorite mixtape "MacVision HD". During college he would go on to become one of the lead vocalists in the hip-hop/jazz fusion band Genevieve. Dropping their EP "7 Items or Less" they would go on to tour for a few years during college tenure before moving onto new ventures. Around the time of the creation of Genevieve, J-Mac decided to rebrand himself as Max Dope, as heard in a few of his songs, "I had to switch my name to Max Dope, 'cuz every time I spit they be like Mac's Dope". Now fully focused on growth and expanding his brand, Max Dope has become a force to be reckoned with with an invigorating stage presence and a killer flow that garners crowd participation and respect whenever he performs live. With intense vocal projection and a witty punchline technique fused with a crisp delivery, Max Dope is quickly becoming a household name, and is looking to expand even further.
