Chauncey Canfield is a Portland, Oregon-based pianist and multi-instrumentalist composer whose lifelong musical journey began at the age of 3. His exceptional ear and boundless curiosity have taken him through the worlds of classical, jazz, electronic, ambient and beyond. His highly intuitive musical sense have allowed him to seamlessly combine these diverse influences to create his signature improvisational style of "compositional ambient," which finds close kinship with contemporary contemporary artists like Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Eydís Evensen, Hania Rani, Joep Beving, Roedelius, Goldmund/Keith Kenniff, Brad Mehldau and others. His music has been featured in films, TV shows, and commercials. His thoughtful (yet effortless) playing has been described as "a spontaneous journey into spaces both intimate and soaring."
