REVOLUTION: Born of Haitian descent the son of two parents who struggled to make a living for their children within a third world country. Raised on the Northside of Chicago, Vega understood the difficulties of immigrant assimilation within a rugged city. He quickly learned the ways of the street. Education did little to avert his attention from his various passions. Hip hop, break dancing, graffiti, and the gang culture. Influences included, NWA, P.E., Wu-Tang Clan, Nasir Jones, EPMD, Redman, and Chicago Underground Rap. Opening small venues and using battle rap as a platform Vega began to create his persona. Creating mixed cassettes and recordings for local DJs became a staple for young Vega. He then took his talents to Illinois State University, where all of his teachings would play a major role in college. Learning to emcee and broadening his hip hop expertise were essential in developing the artist Chicago Vega. This knowledge helped him acquire his B.A. in Education then his M.F.A Degree in English Edu. Through critical acclaim Vega began to realize his passion becoming a reality. The description of the sound was underground Chicago hip hop told from the perspective of young adults from the Northside of Chicago.
