Born Chimuanya Tobenna Okereke, Chimy is a native of Anambra state. He was born and raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Chimy started making music professionally in 2017. He classifies his music as “Afro Fusion” because his sound is chiseled by afrobeat, highlife and R&B influences at a high propensity. Chimy’s lyricism drips with witty and cheerful sensuality. He is popularly known for his sensational record; "Trips & Munchies" which not only features Dandizzy and Dr Barz; but contributed to his win at the 2020 Galaxy Music Awards where he won the Next Rated category. He released his debut album "Major Curing" in 2020 and has produced records for the likes of Novemba, Ichaba and S7vnt Wonda to mention a few. He is currently signed to 9FE Recordings.
