VINTONIC is an Indonesian electro-pop band from Jakarta, formed in 2019. The band consists of Ravin Kalindra (Guitar), Heston Prasetyo (Keys/Producer) and Nicho Benito (Vocal). After studying music in Boston, Heston and Ravin went back to Indonesia, where Heston started working as a full-time producer and Ravin works as a Film Composer. Meanwhile, Nicho performs at various events and gigs outside of his office life. One day, Nicho was brought to Heston’s studio through a mutual friend to jam with the multi-instrumentalist. Amazed by his songwriting and singing ability, Heston showed Nicho’s demo to Ravin. Convinced by the quality of the demo, they soon got together and formed the band. Growing up watching Japanese Animes on TV every Sunday, Vintonic is constantly fascinated by its distinctive opening soundtrack. Subconsciously, they started putting these melodic elements on top of their Soul & RnB arrangements after watching some of those Animes online. On the other hand, the band also started implementing some 80’s vintage sounds such as drum machines, analog synthesizers, as well as early digital synthesizers while jamming. These influences brought them to their music that is a mixture of Citypop, Electropop and RnB.
