Breaking on to the scene as an underground rapper, Liverpool born vocalist Shak Omar decided to rebrand in a different direction. Now focusing on a more soulful, melodic sound, Shak released his debut single “Clouds” in January 2017. Now referred to as a singer/songwriter, Shak has managed to fuse the classic old school sound of RnB with a more modern flow based style with glimpses of his early MC days. Having been supported on BBC Radio 1XTRA by DJs such as Target and Ace, Shak has also put out visuals on channels such as Link Up Tv and SBTV. In April of 2018, Shak released his debut project “Seasons” to positive reviews. This project displayed Shak’s growth as an artist and proved his “RnB Child” moniker, with plenty of smooth slow jams. In addition the up-tempo party anthems where Shak’s Afro/Caribbean heritage shines through, strengthens his claim that there is a song on there for everyone. He has since followed this project up with 2 more projects including “Medicinal” and more recently the “Flowers” EP, released in 2024.
