Biography

Art Melody is a rapper from Burkina Faso with a unique flow. He draws as much inspiration from his mother’s griotic incantations, as from the 1970’s Afro-soul or even from the best New York rap (Busta Rhymes, Mobb Deep, Wu Tang Clan). In the early 2000s, Art Melody dreamed of Europe to improve the living conditions of his family. His difficult journey will stop in Algeria where he was imprisoned before being extradited to Burkina Faso. After that, he went to Côte D'ivoire, Mali and Mauritania. There he met many musicians and rappers who would profoundly inspire him. Art Melody has since released 5 albums on Tentacule Records, working with Anti Pop Consortium’s High Priest, Fishbone’s Walter Kibby, Jimi Tenor (Warp), Labelle and even sound engineer Dave Cooley of Stones Throw label (who made the master for his albums). On a daily basis, this artist is also father of two and a farmer in the great tradition of the Mossi people, for whom, attachment to the land is fundamental. His new album "ZOODO" (Friendship, One hand stretched to the other) will be released on November 2019. The disc is entirely produced by French beatmaker Redrum. Together they have already collaborated on two albums including "WOGDOG BLUES" in 2013, considered an african rap classic and praised by international press at the time of its release. website: https://www.artmelodyofficial.com/
