Born and raised in a small town called Daet, Camarines Norte in the Philippines, Kio Priest ventured out to the city of Manila at an early age of 17 to pursue his passion to become a songwriter for a few record labels. Sleeping on couches, chasing rent, sleeping under the stairs, spending nights in wet markets (when he gets evicted) while working with FlipMusic at his early stages of his career, he has written some songs for Nadine Lustre (Paligoy-ligoy), James Reid, Enchong Dee, Matteo Guidicelli and many more. Coming from a family who is also struggling, he also ventured out to write a few commercial jingles to gain income and worked with a few brands like Datu Puti, San Miguel etc. Later on, he then found out his new passion for performing in front of tons of people and fell in love with it. Starting with rave festivals like Summer Siren, he continued to pursue his career as a solo act and wrote his own songs. Now coming to light with his new lease on life as a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, he aims to lend his voice to the younger dreamers of the community. Tailoring songs that tells his story as a queer artist, he aims to provide more relatable songs using same-sex pronouns and real-life experiences as scenarios in his tracks.
