Biography

Dallas Ford is a Pennsylvania-born rapper with a penchant for examining all that comes with the anxieties of our late-20s and the trials of using our vices to endure them. His music offers a rare and specialized take on the Lo-Fi subgenre, mixing gritty 90's boom bap samples, speckled & textured instrumentation, and bare-bones constructed storytelling. First learned of his talents when freestyling with groups in high school, Dallas Ford took years of convincing from fellow artists and peers to begin to craft officially released music. Soon he honed in his work and released his debut album, "A Curious Case" in 2021 collaborating with artists like Pittsburgh's Taylor Gang Signee, Fedd The God and Philadelphia's UncleMu, as well as fellow B4D records artists Notey & Cois. Following the underground success of his album and the attached tour, Dallas buried the sound of his debut to create the mammoth-in-scope concept album, "We Were Told It's Ok To Be Here" Working with sounds from 1950's radio broadcasts, amateur field recordings, home-video, and 20th-century jazz samples, Dallas created a work separate from the sounds of today. The album's concept follows a character in his/her late-20s from the ball dropping on Jan 1st through Dec 31 and all of the trials, tribulations, celebrations, heartbreaks, and self-exploratory moments within.
