Kevin Michael, however, has been there, done that. Through all his personal trials, music was never far from sight. Kevin still lent his talents by penning Hudson Mohawke's 2015 single, “Warriors” and “These Arms,” by fellow R&B crooner, Luke James in 2018. Inspired by the classic, sultry sounds of the late 1990s and early 2000s, and sparked by his love for Timbaland’s production and Missy Elliott’s unique writing style and textural vocal arrangements, The Quiet Cool explores universal themes of love and relationships—something everyone can relate to. Always offering a fresh perspective with his slick prose, Cool is a gender-neutral project, ebbing and flowing between a seductive, quiet confidence and a moody but sensual sense of vulnerability. When asked about his retreat from the kind of music that once blasted him into the spotlight, Kevin simply replies, "This is what is meaningful to me right now. I see no need to be involved with anything I can't take pride in from this point on. You can call my music whatever you like, as long as you call it good.”
