New on the scene but coming in with a lot of force, Canadian artist Yusuf Victory is determined to grab your attention. Born and raised in Montréal, creativity comes naturally to the young music artist and photographer. When he is not in the studio cooking up his next hit, YV likes to keep busy doing photography, videography, and even moonlights as an occasional DJ here and there. Being the child of Caribbean immigrants in a city riddled with racism and struggles, YV uses his vast life experiences as fuel and inspiration for all his creative endeavors. As a result, he has a very personal relationship to his music, from stem to finished product. Drawing on sounds and inspiration from artists like Che Ecru, Don Toliver, and even Michael Jackson, YV successfully creates a unique, and dark sound that is not only rhythmic and bouncy but also very reflective of his persona.
