Biography

CBR, AUSTRALIA, 2617, /GRIME/GARAGE/DRUM&BASS/HIP-HOP/ JLP is a 22-year-old Grime artist from Canberra, Australia, who brings witty wordplay and complex, schemed flows to 140bpm. Since discovering hip-hop early in his teens, he quickly moved onto grime, finding it sparked a flame that couldn’t be extinguished. In only a few years of musical releases, and building a reputation as ‘JLP’, you might have seen him travelling up and down the east coast of Australia playing shows with grime associate ‘Macca’. The fiery onstage connection between JLP and Macca is something that cannot be missed or matched. JLP has shared the stage with national & international artists including Chillinit, Wombat, DJ Barely Legal, Turquoise Prince, Alex Jones (Dr Flea), Fraksha, Diem, Scotty Hinds, Nerve, Shadow, Mitchos da Menace, Talakai & Genisis Owusu, as well as collaborating on tracks with influential artists like Riko Dan, Fraksha & Scotty Hinds to name just a few. JLP’s versatility is something different. He can switch from a sombre, melodic and personal touch, to a grime sound that has been proven to inspire and get a crowd moving. He has a diverse ear for grime and strives to bring quality content with every release, with one of his earlier tracks, “5 years”, hitting a solid 100,000 streams on Spotify. He hit 2022 off with a Bang after Playing Groovin The Moo Festival, with Its a London Thing Crew, and is Ready to Shutdown a set near You!
