Artist, producer, and songwriter Maya Wagner is cutting through the noise with expressions of her queer identity and experiences with mental illness in her carefully-crafted, bedroom-made tracks. Her debut EP, "Closeted," released on June 25th, 2021 and has been a hit among the LGBTQ community. Its title track captures the often overlooked experience of being out as queer, but loving someone who can't be. Alongside the more playful tracks in her EP, heart-wrenching single "i miss her body" expresses the challenges Maya has faced in eating disorder recovery. Apart from her own artistry, Maya is an active music producer, producing music for the likes of MØNA, Emily Horton, and Ella Allice, and creates educational music production-themed content for her ever-growing TikTok and Instagram audience. Maya is a recipient of The Kennedy Center's VSA International Young Soloist's Award and three-time prizewinner of Berklee College of Music's Songs for Social Change competition.
