Originally from Chillán, Chile, Diego Smith spent his early years in Bulnes before relocating to Santiago de Chile, living there until age 21. He now resides in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a city integral to his artistic pursuits. Although he initially aspired to provide for his family through football, music—a lifelong passion inspired by his grandfather and school rap sessions—took precedence. By the age of 10, he was composing songs, leading up to the release of his debut single “Replay” in 2017. Diego constantly innovates his sound and challenges his boundaries, guided by the support of his family and devoted fanbase, ‘The Shash Crew.’ Among his noteworthy tracks are “Illuminati” and “Conexión,” and his personal favorite of the year, “Arte.” His latest single, “Fast Love,” delves into the rapid pace of modern life, asserting that genuine intensity and authenticity in relationships and art can indeed thrive in fleeting moments. Artists like Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Playboy Carti, Trippie Redd, X Tentacion, and Lil Baby have all served as inspirations for Diego. Not only has he enjoyed successful releases but he has also reached significant career milestones, including his participation in the Netflix series La firma, his first Chilean tour, and a performance at the prestigious Movistar Arena.
