Monika Christodoulou started as a Myspace sensation from her hometown Athens, Greece. Her debut LP “Avatar” (2008) became platinum in Greece. Her second platinum LP “ Exit” (2010) established her as a major Greek artist and led her to NYC’s infamous Dunham studios where she recorded her third album, “Secret in The Dark” (2015). As a highly-respected artist of international appeal, organically breaking into European markets such as France and Belgium, she was signed by major labels and distributors (PIAS France). In 2016 she was signed with Songs Publishing (US). Two extensive tours in the US and EU and “Tiny Desk” on NPR made her a familiar name in media outlets. Monika has also written the music for over 10 theatrical plays and for the Hollywood movie “The Lost Daughter” by Maggie Gyllenhaal. She released her first Greek album in December 2019 and was the character “Honeymaren” in the Greek version of Disney’s Frozen 2. In May 2020 Monika released “Saving the World” in dedication to those fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic and donated 100% of the Youtube proceeds to support low-income medical staff globally. In March 2021 she wrote the new Olympic theme song “Kallimarmaro” to play as part of the ceremony of re-enlightment at the Panathinaiko Stadium in Athens. Monika shares her residence between Los Angeles and the Greek island of Spetses. Monika's new album "Proud" was released on March 16th 2023.
