Biography

Lisa’s amazing 3-decade-long career in house music began in the early 1990’s working with Frankie Knuckles ( a rare early version of “You Got the Love”) and was swiftly followed by hits with Sheer Bronze “Walking on” (Go Beat) , Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto Allstarz “Reach Up” (Perfecto) before embarking on a purple patch of collaborations with the Lab Rats “Music is my way of Life “ (Soulfuric), The Messengers “ Higher/Spread Love” (Undiscovered), Goodfellas “Soul Heaven”, Subsystem “The Best of Me”, Bini Martini “Burning up” as well as House of Glass “Disco Down” ( all Ocean Trax/Azuli) This series of massive club hits drew Lisa to the attention of Defected’s Aydin (ATFC) who invited Lisa to vocal his 2nd major release “Bad Habit” and the follow up “Sleep Talk” (Defected) and she continued to work with fellow label mates Copyright on “Late at Night” and on Soul Rebels “I’ll Be Good” before solo releases for the label; “Don’t Bring me Down” and Defected associate label Code Red “When I’m Dancing”. The following decade saw Lisa collaborate with numerous DJ producers including David Penn “Join Us” (Urbana), Dave Anthony “This Time baby” (Quantise) and another signature release “Now Your Gone” with Juan Kidd again on Defected. In between house gigs Lisa performs with Latin soul band Grupo X and dance super-group Detronic. She recently launched her very own Bettiquette label and continues to work with Dave Anthony (Kemet Soul) as well “Now Your Gone” producer Jason Herd.
