Maryland native singer/songwriter, Mycah, is one of the most promising up and coming artists in R&B music. Mycah moved throughout the south, living in places like Atlanta, Dallas, and Jacksonville in her formative years. Although she calls the DMV home, she uses both the southern and northern influences to create a unique sound with not only captivating lyrics, but also a soulful sound. Mycah lists Beyoncé, Rihanna, Keyshia Cole and Alicia Keys as a few of her many musical influences. When you listen to her music, you can feel strong emotions through every lyric, which she claims to be the biggest takeaway from these artists. From a young age, Mycah displayed a passion for entertainment. She began her career in the industry at the tender age of 7 years old, as an actress in a musical at a local theater company. It was clear that she had star-potential, as she continued to take on challenging roles for the next decade. She parlayed her musical theater background into her unique style. She began writing music at 10 years old, after learning about poetry in English class, which happened to be her favorite subject. Mycah says that writing music has helped her to escape from the adversities and hardships that life has thrown her way. In writing, she finds peace.
