Rolanda Carter is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and award-winning songwriter originally from Cleveland, OH. She is a jazz vocalist by training but has a deep appreciation for performing many genres including Gospel, Soul, Funk and Folk. Rolanda has performed and traveled with various ensembles from the The Howard University Choir and the Stellar Award Nominated Howard Gospel Choir to her current membership with the Reginald Golden Singers, who debuted in 2016 as part of BET's Love and Happiness: An Obama Celebration concert. She has traveled extensively using her voice and guitar in the US and abroad to Peru, Croatia, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Jordan, The United Arab Emirates, Luxembourg and Israel. Rolanda's songwriting asks the tough questions and focuses on the issues of life that we all face. Her debut single, "Bullet Train" was released on June 30, 2017. She received an Honorable Mention in the Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest in 2016 and won the Gold Award for her song, "Bullet Train" the following year. In 2018, Rolanda was a finalist in The Bernard - Ebb Songwriting Awards. She was a participant in The NYU Songwriting Workshop in 2019 where she studied with legendary songwriters Phil Galdston, Barry Eastmond and Maia Sharpe. Rolanda debuted a concert of her original music at Howard University and was later invited to perform a concert of her original music at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts' Millennium Stage (available on YouTube).
