Son Of John is the moniker of Worcestershire based finger-style guitarist & singer/songwriter, Jacob Johnson. He has drawn influence from the delta & country blues of the south to the Appalachian tunes of North America, back over the Atlantic to the British Isles and the folk ballads upto the modern songwriters of Scandinavia. Testing himself initially as a solo performer with just his guitar in hand he began to corral a group of local musicians to his aid and started to form his debut album (2016’s Autumn’s Hymn). More recently Johnson has widened his sound with the help of double bassist John Parker, this expansion has helped broaden the songwriting process as well as strengthen the sound & atmosphere. The duo have now released their first project together an E.P (2018’s Live at Fieldgate Studio) recorded in conjunction with live videos they worked on at the end of 2017. The E.P pays homage to the debut album (2016’s Autumn’s Hymn) with a mix of original tracks and traditional songs.
