Beyza Yazgan is a Turkish pianist and composer. She earned a doctorate degree in piano performance at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul and at Chopin Academy in Warsaw. In 2016 she moved to New York to pursue a Professional Studies diploma from Mannes School of Music where she was awarded the Josef Fidelman Contemporary Music Performance Award. Beyza has participated in masterclasses by world-renowned artists such as Gary Graffman, Oxana Yablonskaya, Richard Goode, Vladimir Feltsman, Boris Berman, Solomon Mikowsky, and at music festivals like Art of Piano, New York International Keyboard Festival, and Forum Musikae. She has performed in diverse locations ranging from traditional venues such as Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall to ancient caves in Turkey. After winning first prize at the 8th Metropolitan International Piano Competition, Beyza self-produced her debut album, To Anatolia: Selections from the Turkish Five, released in 2021 by Bridge Records. It has been received quite well for its high-level artistry and imagination by classical music magazines such as Gramophone, The WholeNote. She designed the art for the CD release of To Anatolia and animated a music video for the track Şu Yamaçta, and is passionate about continually expanding her personal expression to new artist fields as she further explores her musical life as both musician and composer. www.beyzayazgan.com
