Coming on the scene in 2012, Drey “Pro Status” Wingate introduced himself to the music world with the independent release of his debut album, INNOVATION. A raw, yet promising project that caught the attention of underground hip-hop heads, sparking interest of what was to come for the upcoming emcee/actor. Prior to pursuing a full-time career as an artist and actor, he played professional basketball for multiple minor and overseas leagues across the country from 2009-2012. After suffering an injury that caused him to miss an entire season, he used his recovery time to piece together what was next for him. Having a day one passion for film, writing and the hip-hop culture, he made the tough decision to walk away from the hardwood and fall back on his art to fill the void which basketball had left. To date, he has a released nine solo projects. All released under his independent label Authentic Rhythm.
