Michigan indie rock outfit Blondfire was created by sibling pair, Erica and Bruce Driscoll. Previously known as Astaire, the brother-and-sister duo changed their name to Blondfire in order to avoid any potential legal hassles from the iconic actor's estate. Though their name had changed, they kept the band's sound the same, sticking with the dreamy and sweet electronic-tinged pop that brought to mind the Cardigans and Metric. They signed briefly with EMI in 2006, but left the label before finishing their first full-length under the Blondfire name, My Someday, which they released independently on their own Tender Tender Rush label in 2008. Blondfire eventually signed with Warner in 2012, and in the fall of that year released an EP, Where the Kids Are, which found the band breaking onto the Billboard charts. The four songs on that EP would go on to feature on their sophomore LP, Young Heart, which was released in 2014. In 2015, Bruce parted ways with his sister to focus on his own band, the indie pop outfit Freedom Fry. Erica continued as a solo artist under the Blondfire moniker, releasing another EP in 2016 titled True Confessions. ~ Gregory Heaney & Neil Z. Yeung, Rovi
