Raised in Los Angeles on skateboarding and heavy metal, DJ XBOYFRIEND has consistently released music under various names for well over a decade. He’s garnered much support from the electronic music scene, only to start over again and again. An avid painter, DJXBOYFRIEND is influenced by the visual arts as much as he is by his musical peers and counterparts. By reason of necessity, he co-founded the LA based house music label, COOL CONTEST, and the brand has seen much growth over the past several years. The platform has been a jumping off point for many artists early in their careers and gives a creative freedom not warranted by many other labels. As a DJ, he regularly plays for hours on end, whether it be a beach party or dive bar or nightclub, working the dancefloor is no longer an experiment. 2023 will see a lot of back catalogue drops and consistent new music.
