Sleep ∞ Over's dreamy experimental pop is the brainchild of Austin, Texas’ Stefanie Franciotti. When it debuted in 2010 with a self-titled cassette on spotify:search:label%3A%22Night+People%22 , the single Outer Limits on spotify:search:label%3A%22Forest+Family%22 (which sold out within a week of its release), and a split single on spotify:search:label%3A%22Light+Lodge%22 with Pure Ecstasy, the project also included Christa Palazzolo and Sarah Brown, but they left to form their own project, Boy Friend. Franciotti continued to hone her sound, which drew comparisons to Kate Bush, Cocteau Twins, Julee Cruise, and Grouper, in 2011. Signing to spotify:search:label%3A%22Hippos+in+Tanks%22 , Sleep ∞ Over issued the Casual Diamond single, which emphasized the growing pop direction of Franciotti's music.
