Saleh Katbeh is a Berlin-based producer, oud player, and music theorist known for his rich fusion of traditional and contemporary music. With a deep foundation in both Eastern and Western musical traditions, Saleh began his education at the High Institute of Music in Damascus and later pursued advanced studies at the Franz Liszt Hochschule für Musik in Weimar. Saleh has made significant contributions to film and theater, showcasing his ability to blend diverse musical styles. His notable works include The Factory, which premiered at Berlin's Volksbühne in 2018, Y-Sednaya, which debuted in Naples in 2020, and King kommt noch, a collaboration with German composer Ulrich Kreppein that premiered at the Köln Philharmonie in 2018. His compositions are marked by the innovative integration of Eastern melodic structures with Western harmonies, creating a unique and evocative sound.
