RLGNS (rɪˈlɪdʒəns) is a Lisbon duo formed by Medley and Escumalha. Having known each other through Lisbon’s punk scene, both knew that they shared several musical influences and would like to create a different project, combining elements of shoegaze, ambient music and electronics. RLGNS is in its essence an attempt to express different moods in music and explore unfamiliar territory. Using electroacoustic techniques such as found sound and field recordings, the band is concerned with establishing a relationship between the organic and the digital, which is expressed in beats that both seek the exoticism of Bonobo and the minimalism of Jan Jelinek.
