Biography

The “COLLEGIUM CANTORUM” Choir of the Częstochowa Philharmonic is an ensemble that was created as a combination of great passion for music, commitment and great musical sensitivity. Singers of the choir easily find their place in classical, entertainment music, opera, musical, as well as in contemporary works. The ensemble appears on the stage as a whole, in smaller ensembles, as well as solo, presenting vocal artistry. The choir is a continuator of the ensemble established in 1987 by Janusz Siadlak. The experience of the director of the ensemble gained over the years and his desire to create the highest quality performances led to the professionalisation of the choir. As a 24-person, professional mixed choir, “Collegium Cantorum” has been operating since 2012, being one of the artistic groups of the Częstochowa Philharmonic. It is maestro Siadlak that has been the director of the ensemble from the very beginning. The “Collegium Cantorum” choir has given concerts almost all over Poland, in most European countries, as well as in Argentina (twice), Uruguay, Russia, China and the US (twice), gathering excellent reviews and meeting with the enthusiastic reception of the audience. The ensemble has made many world premieres of works by Polish composers. It is appreciated for impeccable technique and exceptional musical sensitivity in even very demanding, rarely performed works.
