Balkan Paradise Orchestra (BPO) was formed in 2015 in Barcelona, blending friendship, a passion for Balkan brass, and a desire for a unique fanfare. Initially playing Balkan repertoire, they evolved by mixing Iberian and global influences, creating eclectic and festive music. Each member brings diverse backgrounds, from classical to jazz. Renowned for their energetic, choreographed performances, BPO engages audiences of all ages. Their stage presence, honed at street and circus festivals, conveys joy and teamwork. Over their career, they’ve released three albums, an EP, and won awards like Best Folk Album (Enderrock 2018) and Best International Tour (Arc 2022). Their latest album, Nèctar (2024), is inspired by the world of bees, symbolizing teamwork, collective effort, and a passion for life. Primarily instrumental, it also features some vocal parts. It blends electronic, pop, disco, and Balkan sounds, alternating between high-energy, danceable tracks and more intimate, acoustic pieces. The presentation tour of Nèctar (2024) has been a success both in Barcelona and Madrid and has led them to perform in seven different countries, including a tour across the U.S. They also collaborated on a music video for Vogue Spain for Día de Muertos with the Mexican artist Natalia Lafourcade. This 2025, Balkan Paradise Orchestra continues the journey with its Nèctar Tour, returning to France, Germany, Italy, the U.S., and Canada in what will be its most international tour to date.
