Bartira comes back with a curveball set of songs that combines her singular vocal stacks, experiments with songwriting structures and foley art made with her ever-growing bank of sounds. Her first venture into avant-garde pop which did not derail back into noise, she’s in the making of a sonic world that straddles uniqueness and uncompromised diy spirit. Bartira has already been living a low-key life in music: her previous solo noise project Bartholin’s Glands started performing in 2009 and it was featured in experimental music radio shows and festivals all round UK. In 2014 she took a masters degree in new media artists which consolidated her interest in urban musicologies and sound arts, aswell as her research topic on how sound hallmarks form memory and the identity of a society. Sound installations, workshops, radio art and sound collage became the main forms of expression of her work. While developing installations using coding and AI to create text and poetry, the explosion of AI in the creative industries saw her going back to human basics, using voice and organic materials in her music production. For the first time, the DNA of these disparate projects perfectly fit together, the noise and textures of Bartholin’s Glands, the ambience and archival material of her sound installations, the storytelling and amateurish charm of her singing in her radio art pieces. All adding up to her new found voice and enterprise into crafting her mark in music production.
