Singer–songwriter Ytssel fuses sounds of Urban Latin Music, Dancehall, Pop and R+B; giving a taste of her mixed worlds, being born in St Croix, Virgin Islands and uprooting to The Bronx. Her Dominican household influenced the sounds of bachata and reggaeton into her music. Ytssel changed gears by singing covers of R&B and other pop stars during teen years. Ytssel started things off hot and steamy in her 2019 debut bilingual single “Take It Slow”; a player with playful, pop, and reggae style. Switching things up, Ytssel sings about heartbreak in her Spanish single and music video, “Date Un Trago'', a light, up-beat, melody with reggaeton style. While attending Talent Unlimited High School for the Performing Arts in New York City, Ytssel was classically trained in singing. Throughout her college career music was prevalent in her extra-curricular activities, holding positions such as Programming Chair and President of The Starving Artists at the University of Albany; hosting open-mic nights, workshops and showcases, creating a judgment-free space where creatives can perform, experiment new art forms and inspire others. Completing high school, embarking college, and jump starting a well paying career after earning a Bachelor of Arts–Ytssel achieved living the American Dream, unhappy and unfulfilled. 2020 gave vision to follow the footsteps of her dream–music.
