UK producer/songwriter Jackie Marua released his debut EP Imprints under Stripes Records in 2018 establishing his distinct sound as a solo artist that blends trap, garage and future bass with atmospheric R&B overtones. BBC Introducing interviewed Jackie Marua and featured his artist mix following the release of Imprints and continue to champion his music. In 2015 he founded the hip-hop collective twosixtysix with members Liv East, Fosterbeats, CD Spinz and HJJ. Since its formation twosixtysix have toured British and European festivals, run a Hackney-based monthly residency, opened for artists such as Madchild and Tommy Genesis and accumulated significant support from UK radio stations. Formerly releasing under a different moniker, Jackie Marua gained global praise alongside the release of his debut single Cherry Tree featuring his friend and brand new solo artist Liv East who is also making waves in the pioneering class of 2019. Having spent time during his childhood years in New Zealand, a period that greatly influenced his career in music, Jackie Marua is named after Marua Road in NZ where he lived with his family. In 2019 under Stripes Records he released a double A-side, featuring Can’t Lose and Minstrel.
