Biography

Formed as a meeting of minds with their forceful and enticing debut album Inflamed Rides in 2015. O.R.k. have cemented their reputation with further full length album releases, Soul of an Octopus, Ramagehead, and 2022’s well received fourth album Screamnasium. O.R.k have long attracted the interest and support of fellow creative artists and musicians. Previous guests and collaborators have included multiplatinum vocal phenom Elisa, virtuoso cellist Jo Quail and System of a Down’s Serj Tankian. The creative duo of Grammy winning art director Adam Jones (of Tool) and Marvel/DC Comics illustrator Denis Rodier have also been involved in artwork and their albums remarkable visual imagery. O.R.k. have always been keen to point out that the band is no self indulgent studio project, with the band having undertaken several tours with live dates across Europe and South America over the years. O.R.k. are kicking off a new round of activity with their latest single release “Blast of Silence” - the first in a series of new songs and one that arguably draws on the heavier side of the band’s collective identity. “Blast of Silence” showcases Lef’s powerful vocals at the forefront of an ambiguous twisted hymn to hidden depths and undiscovered possibilities. Carmelo Pipitone ably demonstrates his ability to craft intricate, expressive and memorable guitar parts whilst Pat Mastelotto and Colin Edwin match the dynamism with sensitivity and force on drums and bass respectively.
