LA based rapper, Henry Canyons, transcends your typical boundaries of hip-hop identity. The half-French, Brooklyn native draws from his diverse cultural background which directly reflects on his musical style. On his first album Canyonland, Henry and Paris’ Keor Meteor teamed up on a jazzy, boom bap-centric and introspective record guaranteed to leave listeners quenched with a refreshing cocktail of soulful hip-hop. In 2016, Berlin based Jakarta Records re-released Canylonland on limited edition vinyl that sold out in a matter of hours. In September of 2016, Canyons participated in a two month artist residency at BoiSakré Productions in Biarritz, France which resulted in La Côte West EP inspired by his experience in Europe. Quickly following La Côte West, Brooklyn-based label Backwoodz Studioz released Canyons’ 2nd studio album Cool Side of the Pillow in April of 2018. Fresh off a West Coast US Tour and European Tour, Henry is in full swing of the Cool Side which has been receiving some notable press and reviews. On stage, it is Henry’s electric energy, command over the crowd, and ability to control his SP 404 while simultaneously rapping that proves that he is a one man spectacle. Over the course of his career Canyons has shared the stage with Macklemore, Tash (Tha Alkaholiks), Open Mike Eagle, Homeboy Sandman, Pigeon Jon, Blue Scholars, Billy Woods, Illogic, and tons of local LA talent.
