Richard Resch began his musical education as a member of the Boys‘ Choir at Regensburg Cathedral. He studied in Augsburg where his teachers included Agnes Habereder, Hans-Joachim Beyer, Edda Sevenich and Dominik Wortig. He continued his studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel, where he specialised in Early Music and Ensemble Music with Evelyn Tubb and Anthony Rooley. To complete his studies, he attended singing masterclasses by Brigitte Fassbaender, Margreet Honig, Regina Resnik, Rudolf Jansen, Michael Nagy, Rudolf Piernay, Udo Reinemann, Wolfram Rieger and Gerd Türk. Richard has won prizes at several international opera singing competitions and the City of Augsburg awarded him its Arts Prize. He's working with many renowned colleagues and conductors all over the world and been booked by such as Howard Arman, Christoph Eschenbach, Ton Koopman, Andrea Marcon, Marc Minkowski, Andrew Parrott, Philippe Pierlot, Christophe Rousset, Helmuth Rilling, Andreas Spering und Jos van Veldhoven and at venues as Bayerische Staatsoper, Opéra National de Bordeaux, Tokyo Opera City and festivals such as Aix-en-Provence, Beethovenfest Bonn, Rheingau Musikfestival, Mozartwoche Salzburg, Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival and many others. He's regularely singing with Ensembles like Vox Luminis, Voces Suaves or with his co-founded Ensemble Alerion.
