“DVO– born Amir Haghparast – is a Persian/canadian born, Canada based singer/songwriter who is blessed with a unique ear allowing him to hear different tones, melodies and pitchs, a unique condition where when one sense is activated, another kicks in at the same time. When he hears music, he sees videos, colours, shapes and emotions. Born to a family who migrated from Iran to Canada, his father was a Civil Constructions engineer, his mother was a teacher and also a full time mom. While he was clearly influenced by his idols such as Drake, the Weeknd, Jay Sean, Masari and Belly, his main reason for getting into the booth was due to a tragic accident his father had. Causing DVO to find a way to release the pain and anger he was building within. He started writing songs at 17 and soon realized that his natural facility for being bilingual translated to singing songs not only in English and but also in Farsi.
