Biography

Mu’min Muzik recording artist Jean D’eau is a southern lyricist born and raised on the streets of Atlanta, Ga. The rapper released his debut project “Who is Jean D’eau?” back in 2018 receiving over 500,000 stream to date. The collection of hard-hitting tracks contained features from Ralo, Swift, Louieyski, and Daytona as well as production from The Colleagues, 808 Mafia, Ace Taylor, Track Makaz Beatz, YB, & Whiteboy. The lead single “By the Code”, received rave reviews and “See You Win” featuring Ralo was listed on ATL Top 20’s March 2018 hottest records chart. Jean D’eau’s musical style and sound have been described as a hybrid of southern lyricism with a hint of melody. D’eau credits his song concepts to both his previous street background and his Islamic faith. “I was only 16 when I caught my case so I basically grew up in prison,” he says. “I served 10 years so you can imagine a lot of my subject matter is based on those experiences.” He went on to tour with fellow Atlanta Muslim rapper Ralo and had created his own independent record label Mu’min Muzik before taking a 5 year hiatus from music. Most recently, he’s made headlines for revealing Ralo’s federal cooperation and has received backlash for it. His latest project “Therapy” tells his side of the story.
