Born and raised in Gauteng, Pretoria, in a musical environment, System The One was exposed to various musical styles, ranging from house to gospel to RnB to Kwaito and Hip-Hop music. Which later made him fall in love with the raw feel Hip-Hop music has and how it made him feel. He started rapping and writing songs at the tender age of 7, with guidance from his father and influence from his surroundings. He also started producing his own music, from instrumentals to recording and compilations at the age of 12. He soon found a way to merge being a music producer with being an artist. In his hometown, he is popularly known for his 2016 love song titled “Confession”, which was well received by a majority of his peers. His music style is highly influenced by the likes of Eminem, Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Lil Wayne, Drake and T-Pain. Although his sound is predominantly Rap/Hip-Hop, he finds ways to blend with various such as RnB and Pop. In his music career, System has recorded over 100 + songs, with 2 Extended Play’s (EP’s) “The602 EP” (2017) when he was completing Matric and “SMRTPHNE Music” (2019), as well as a beat tape titled “Wild Waters”. In 2020 he released his highest anticipated mixtape titled "Don't Get Too Excited" as a way to show his musical capabilities and strengths. He also released a somber playlist titled "Jolene's Tapes" in 2021, to highlight his melodic and vocal depth.
