Biography

John Mitchell (born January 8, 1985), better known by his stage name Moses Mitchell, is a National touring American rapper and a U.S. Army Veteran with 12 years of service. Moses grew up on the outskirts of Richmond, VA before leaving for the Army at age 18. He has spent much of his music career affiliated with Slumerican artist and has worked directly with artist such as Jelly Roll and Struggle Jennings. He began his career performing alongside Jelly Roll and Struggle on the Waylon & Willie 2 tour after he earned the attention from the tours DJ, Scatterbrains. Moses has released 3 studio projects, with the most successful being the his latest EP titled “Troubled” (2016). He is best known for his single “Family overall” and his collaboration track with McKenna and Brock on the single “Drive Bye”. Moses has also done collaborations with Blake Haggard on “Fall” and Alexis Fuwell on “Dreaming”. Upon returning from his fourth combat deployment, Moses Mitchell launched his music career with his debut album titled “Untroubled”. The record catapulted Moses throughout the music scene within his community and landing him sponsorship for both studio recording and video production. Moses has worked side-by-side with several organizations and nonprofits that offer aid and assistance with Veterans coping with PTSD. Moses not only uses his platform to help himself with the effects of PTSD, but also to encourage and inspire others to conquer their goals and never stop dreaming.
