Taiwanese band F.I.R. bridges the worlds of rock and pop, delivering streamlined anthems bolstered by soaring vocals and edgy bombast. Making their most sizeable impact in the early 2000s with their breakthrough 2004 debut, the chart-topping F.I.R. ("Fairyland in Reality"), they were a hit across the region, cleaning up Best New Artist awards in Hong Kong, Singapore, China, and Taiwan on the strength of singles such as the rollicking "Fly Away," "Lydia," and the sweeping ballad "Our Love." The founding trio -- vocalist Faye, multi-instrumentalist Ian Chen, and musician/producer Real Huang -- continued with 2005's Unlimited, 2006's Flight Tribe, and 2007's Love, Diva, which secured their position as one of the most popular groups to come out of Taiwan. Their fifth album, Let's Smile, sent the group to the top of the Taiwanese charts for a fourth time. Following the release of 2011's Atlantis and 2013's Better Life, Faye parted ways with the group in 2018. The band also split with longtime label Warner Music Taiwan. They signed with HIM International and Faye's spot was filled by vocalist Lydia, who joined in time fir F.I.R.'s eighth album, Re:Youth, which arrived in 2019. The revamped trio's second set, Diamond Heart, was released in 2021. ~ Neil Z. Yeung, Rovi
