Biography

Veteran Toronto MC, Dan-e-o (Daniel Faraldo) debuted in 1996 with the single “Dear Hip Hop”. It is now considered a Canadian Hip-Hop classic. His debut album, “The Book of Daniel" in 2000 and follow-up LP, "See No Evil, Hear No Evil" in 2004 cemented his reputation as an elite bar-spitting lyricist. Dan-e-o is also half of the duo Perfeck Strangers with fellow rap veteran, PROMISE. Their debut LP, “Series Premiere” dropped in March 2012. Dan-e-o's long overdue third solo LP, “Inevitable” dropped in November 2013, highlighting his growth as a songwriter, vocalist and potent wordsmith. A year later, he went back to his roots by releasing the seminal LP, "Dear Hip Hop", exclusively on vinyl through France’s Sergent Records. Comprised of tracks written and recorded during the “boom bap” heyday of the 90’s, the project was re-released by URBNET as a 20th Anniversary deluxe edition LP entitled "Dear Hip Hop: 20 Years Later" in October 2017. On April 23, 2014, Dan-e-o became a father. His fifth album, "The Day It All Changed” doubles as a soulful ode to his wonderful daughter, Melina and his most mature, polished presentation of lyricism to date. The LP was released by URBNET in October 2019. Dan-e-o’s 6th solo album, “Vigilante” dropped May 10, 2024. With features from legends Masta Ace, Saukrates and comedy superstar, Russell Peters, Dan-e-o has created a recipe for hip-hop perfection. “These are the best 12 songs in the history of my catalogue,” he insists, “Period.”
