Takao is the dance-floor alias for producer William Eliot. Having built a foundation of audio engineering and sound design in the high production world of drum and bass, he has spent the last 3 years crafting his sound in the world of house and disco. Ever groovy and instantly recognisable, Takao’s sound takes influence from the world of funk and jazz samples from all over the world combined with the old school rawness of house and techno. To date he has released music on the Disco Express and Rayko’s Rare Wiri, as well as remixes for SPY on Hospital Records and Arnie Wrong on Bad Life. As a DJ he has played with likes of Horse Meat Disco, Groove Armada and Habibi Funk. He is also co-founder Pangaea Disco, a global dance music night in the heart of Brixton. With a strong programming of top flite DJs pushing a funky global disco night, the group have built on the momentum of their sell-out nights to start a label arm with its first vinyl release set for February 2021.
