John Lodge, Bass Guitarist, Vocalist, and Songwriter for the iconic rock band, The Moody Blues. Songwriter of hits, “Ride My See-Saw”, “I’m Just A Singer (In A Rock and Roll Band)”, “Isn’t Life Strange?” and many more. Lodge has been performing and recording with The Moody Blues for more than five decades, selling over 70 million albums. Lodge was voted one of “10 most influential bass players on the planet,” and received many awards, including ASCAP, an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Lifetime Achievement Award (Prog Awards), and a star in his hometown ‘Walk of Fame’. In 2018, John and the Moody Blues were inducted into the ‘Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’. The Moodies released 15 studio albums, and John has released four albums;NATURAL AVENUE, 10,000 LIGHT YEARS AGO, LIVE FROM BIRMINGHAM, and B YOND. 2021 will bring the release of his Live Album ‘THE ROYAL AFFAIR AND AFTER’, featuring all his Moodies hits, plus special tributes to all the members of the Moody Blues. BLUE JAYS (1975), featured John and Justin Hayward. Born in Birmingham, England, Lodge bought his beloved Fender Precision Sunburst Bass at age 16 (on which he would later perform on all the Moody Blues hits) and then Lodge and Ray Thomas formed El Riot & the Rebels. In 1966 John received a call from Thomas asking “have you finished college yet?” Lodge then joined THE MOODY BLUES. Justin Hayward also joined and the Moody Blues were “reborn”.
