Kuwaiti-born producer Khalid Hamadah initially turned to music as a form of stress relief while juggling life as a medical student. At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Khalid connected with UK-based artist Ousama online, and over the course of three years, they collaboratively crafted their debut album, Skunkworks. Khalid's distinctive production style is inspired by a diverse range of legends, including J Dilla, Radiohead, Queens of the Stone Age, Madlib, Flying Lotus, and A Tribe Called Quest. Skunkworks offers a fresh take on old-school hip-hop, blending vintage, experimental production with mind-bending lyrics. Working alongside industry talents like Brian "Big Bass" Gardner (Dr. Dre, Eminem, Linkin Park), Pierpaolo Demarchi (Stormzy, Skepta, Denzel Curry, Joey Bada$$), and George Pitt of Nymphic, Ousama and Khalid crafted an album that is both inspiring and thought-provoking. Above all, Skunkworks is a tribute to their personal growth, as well as the development of their friendship and creative partnership. "Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything"
