Biography

Born on 26/01/1991, Bongkiya Venagesho Lantum Bertilla known by her stage name, "Tilla" a.k.a "the godmother" is a rap artist and business woman hailing from the Banso/Nkambe Tribes of the North West Region of Cameroon. Growing up in a home merged with Classical Music from her father, Hip hop from her brother and African rhythms like Ndombolo and Makossa from her mother, Tilla quickly developed a passion for music and always indulged herself in musical activities in and out of school. She started writing songs by the age of 10 in class 7 and was even the band captain for the School's "Mbaya" Traditional Dance Group. With her unique blend of Hip Hop, Reggae dancehall and Tribal grassland music and her unique rap style, Tilla has gone further to prove not only to be, "THE GODMOTHER" but a face of hope for female rappers not only in Cameroon or Africa, but of the world as a whole. Formerly signed to record label, New Bell Music, Tilla has gone further to create her own record label known as, "God Mother Sound" and currently works there. Some of Tilla's musical influences include; Bob Marley, Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliot, Beyonce, and, Asa.
