John Gürtler is a London-born, Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist and film composer, known for his unique, tailor-made approach to each project. His work spans diverse styles, often featuring performances from Berlin’s vibrant music scene, and he frequently collaborates with pianist Jan Miserre. His recent projects include The Outrun (starring Saoirse Ronan), No One’s With the Calves (German Film Award for Best Sound), A Mouthful of Air (starring Amanda Seyfried), Netflix’s Dig Deeper, and A Pure Place (German Film Critics Award for Best Score). Other notable works include Space Dogs and System Crasher, for which he won the Camille Award for Best European Original Score 2019. Gürtler has also collaborated with artists like Phillip Sollmann/ Efdemin and teaches film music to filmmakers and composers.
